Groundbreaking Research Helps 4 Paralyzed Men Move Their Legs

Decades of hard work and research have led to an astonishing breakthrough. Despite being paralyzed for years, four young men have moved their legs as a result of epidural stimulation.
“We have uncovered a fundamentally new intervention strategy that can dramatically affect recovery of voluntary movement in individuals with complete paralysis even years after injury,” write the team of researchers at the Frazier Rehabilitation Institute & the University of Louisville.
