Matthew Roach- President/Founder
Matt founded Minutes for Memories in July of 2011 and with the help of friends he has taken the first steps in his dream to help others who have sustained long term injuries. While his long term goals are large he continues to push towards them day in and day out. Matt comes to MFM after getting his bachelor’s degree from Nichols College with a double major of Business Management and Human Resources Management. In 2012 he completed his master’s degree at Northeastern University in Corporate and Organizational Communication specializing in Human Resources Management. He currently works in the Human Resources Management department at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Allison Forte- Administration
Allison comes to Minutes for Memories with a passion for administration and project management. After studying political science at Northeastern University, Allison moved to Texas for a change of scenery. While she enjoyed the southern hospitality and cowboys, after a year, she realized Boston was where she was meant to be. Allison currently works in Administration at the Broad Institute in Cambridge. Over the past year she has spent countless hours developing the website and managing the details of events and memories that have been created.
Greg McGee- Operations
Greg graduated from Boston College with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Hispanic Studies and he currently works in Wealth Management in Boston. His interest in non-profit organizations piqued after spending two summers interning with the African Community Education Program (ACE) in Worcester, MA. With ACE, Greg witnessed how investing time and effort in people could bring about positive impacts in their lives and his own. He learned valuable skills about the daily operations of a non-profit that he now brings to MFM.
Krystal Scalzi- Marketing
Krystal brings a distinct creative skill set to Minutes for Memories that is truly second to none - she takes all of the fantastic pictures you see on our website as well as provides media and marketing insight. Krystal graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Public Communications and currently serves as a Senior PR Executive at Elevate where she specializes in consumer, sponsorship and cause marketing.
Colleen Malachowski, Ph.D.- Academic Partner
Dr. Malachowski completed her undergraduate education at Boston College, where she majored in communication studies. She then earned her MA and PhD from West Virginia University in communication theory and research. She has taught several courses at Florida International University and West Virginia University including interpersonal, organizational, nonverbal, and gender communication. Her research explores the role of communication in romantic relationships and examines various techniques (i.e., visualization and implementation intentions) that may alleviate anxiety associated with discussing taboo topics in interpersonal relationships. She has published in several communication journals including the Western Journal of Communication, Communication Education, Communication Teacher, and Communication Research Reports, and is on the Associate Editorial Board for Communication Studies. She is an active member of the Eastern Communication Association and the National Communication Association, and is currently the vice chair elect for the National Communication Association’s communication apprehension and competence division.

Caroline Karalias
Caroline is a freshman at Boston College and majors in Psychology and English. She decided to intern for Minutes for Memories when she heard about the opportunity through the Emerging Leadership Program on campus. Seeing what great work this organization does, she decided she’d love to join in and help make a difference! As part of her interning responsibilities, Caroline will be helping create social media campaigns, increase Minutes for Memories' online presence and find ways to spread the word about this amazing organization.
Ting (Kate) Xu
Kate comes to Minutes for Memories with a curiosity to learn about non-profits and the enthusiasm to be the Event Coordinator. As a freshman in Boston College's Carroll School of Management, Kate was inspired by Jacqueline Novogratz's memoir, The Blue Sweater, that non-profit organizations really have the power to change people’s lives. Being the Event Coordinator, Kate hopes to work collaboratively with different individuals, groups and companies so that more people will be involved in Minutes for Memories and create better recoveries for children who need our help.
Francesca Malvarosa
Francesca is the Social Media intern for Minutes for Memories. She is currently a freshman at Boston College and is a Finance-Italian double major in the Carroll School of Management. She plans to attend law school in the future and eventually pursue international law.
